Complete Guide to Shipping from WeChat Mini Shop to Taiwan 2026

⚡ In one sentence: Can you buy from Weidian / WeChat Mini Programs in Taiwan? Yes. Sellers on Weidian (weidian.com) and WeChat Mini Program stores mostly ship only within mainland China. Taiwanese buyers check out themselves with WeChat Pay linked to a Taiwan-issued international card (no international card fee for a single payment of RMB 200 or less) and enter the HowBridge Shenzhen consolidation warehouse as the delivery address so the parcel can be forwarded to Taiwan; a dutiable value of NT$2,000 or less is duty-free.

Can WeChat Mini Programs Be Used in Taiwan? Entry Points, Real-Name Verification, and Payment Explained

Yes. A WeChat account registered with a Taiwan mobile number can open WeChat Mini Programs directly (called “xiaochengxu” in mainland China), with no extra app to install and no mainland China mobile number required. Most Mini Programs can be browsed normally; whether you can place an order depends on the merchant's settings (a few products are sold only in certain regions or require a mainland China mobile number), and the delivery address must be within mainland China. To pay by scanning a QR code or to check out with a linked card, you must first complete WeChat real-name verification. Since most sellers deliver only within mainland China, simply have your purchases forwarded to Taiwan using a forwarding warehouse address (see 5 steps to enter a forwarding warehouse address).

Where Do You Open WeChat Mini Programs? 4 Entry Points

How Do Taiwanese Users Register for WeChat and Complete Real-Name Verification?

First, registration: you can register for WeChat with a Taiwan mobile number, but during the process you may be asked to have an eligible existing WeChat user scan the QR code on the registration screen to help; if no one is available to help, WeChat officially offers two alternatives to complete registration: "Verify bank card" or "Verify and activate WeChat Pay" (Tencent Customer Service guide). Next, real-name verification (a separate step from registration, used to activate payment functions): the ID types available are as actually shown on the "Identity Information" page in WeChat Wallet; enter your ID details as prompted on screen, and once verification is complete you can link a card and pay.

What Are the Fees for Paying in WeChat Mini Programs? Don't Confuse the Two Layers of Fees

Online sources often lump “3%” and “1.5%” together, but they are actually two layers of fees, each charged separately by a different party (all of the following refers to linked international cards issued in Taiwan or overseas; it does not apply if you pay with a mainland China bank card):

Fee layerCharged byCharging rule
International card feeWeChat Pay (Tenpay)No fee for a single international card transaction ≤ RMB 200; above RMB 200, 3% of the single transaction amount is charged
Foreign transaction feeTaiwan card-issuing bankSet by the issuing bank and varies by bank, commonly about 1.5%; refer to your own issuing bank's announcement

📌 Rates and policy information updated: July 2026. The rules in this section are based on WeChat Pay's official “Rules for International Card Payment Services”; WeChat Pay may adjust them at any time, and what is shown on the card-linking and checkout pages prevails.

Once payment is sorted out, the last mile is the delivery address—sellers on WeChat Mini Programs and WeChat Mini Shop mostly deliver only within mainland China, so just enter a forwarding warehouse as the delivery address. See the full process in 5 steps to enter a forwarding warehouse address below.

The WeChat Mini Shop ecosystem includes WeChat Store, WeChat Channels shop, and WeChat Mini Program stores, all of which use the same forwarding process.

Can purchases from a WeChat Mini Program be shipped to Taiwan? Yes.WeChat Mini Program stores, which are opened by searching or scanning a QR code within WeChat, as well as WeChat Store and WeChat Channels shop, are all marketplaces within the WeChat ecosystem. Taiwan buyers can purchase from any of them by entering a Shenzhen forwarding warehouse address and forwarding the shipment to Taiwan. The seller only sees a mainland China delivery address and does not need to offer direct shipping to Taiwan.

Note: Weidian (weidian.com) and WeChat Mini Shop are two different services.Weidian is a third-party e-commerce platform independent of WeChat, with both an App and a web version, and is not a WeChat Mini Program. However, the shipping process to Taiwan is exactly the same: enter a forwarding warehouse address, then have the forwarder consolidate the packages and handle customs clearance. Whether you shop through a WeChat Mini Program, WeChat Mini Shop, or Weidian, you can use HowBridge to forward your purchases to Taiwan.

Can you buy from Weidian in Taiwan? How? (4 Weidian-specific steps)

Yes. Weidian (weidian.com) is an e-commerce platform operated by Koudai Shopping and independent of WeChat. Taiwanese buyers can place orders, but sellers ship almost exclusively within mainland China, so you need a consolidation service: ① register a buyer account in the Weidian App or on weidian.com (the registration methods available are as shown in the App); ② when ordering, enter "好运器" as the recipient and the HowBridge Shenzhen consolidation warehouse as the address (ending with your personal ID code); ③ pay with WeChat Pay (linked to a Taiwan-issued international card; 3% is charged on a single payment over RMB 200) or Alipay; ④ after arrival at the warehouse, parcels are combined and dispatched — LCL sea freight from NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft (quoted per product by customer service), sea express NT$50 per unit, air freight NT$100 per kg — and a dutiable value within NT$2,000 is duty-free.

  1. Register a Weidian buyer account

Register a buyer account in the Weidian App (iOS / Android) or on the web version weidian.com; the registration methods available are as shown on the App screen.

  2. Enter the HowBridge Shenzhen consolidation warehouse address when ordering

Enter "好运器" as the recipient and the warehouse phone number as the phone, and copy the address with one tap from the 0523.tw homepage (do not delete the personal ID code starting with H at the end). Weidian waybills also mask the name and phone number with asterisks and show only the address field in full, so parcels are matched to your account by the ID code in the address.

  3. Pay yourself with WeChat Pay or Alipay

Weidian's official checkout supports credit cards, debit cards, Alipay (available outside the WeChat environment), and WeChat Pay (must be opened inside WeChat or the Weidian App) (Weidian Help Center "Supported payment methods"); bank card payments require a name and ID details that match the records held by the card issuer. In practice, Taiwanese buyers use WeChat Pay linked to a Taiwan-issued international card (no fee for a single payment ≤ RMB 200, 3% over 200) or Alipay; HowBridge does not pay for goods on your behalf (Article 29 of the Banking Act (銀行法)).

  4. Consolidate at the warehouse → dispatch → EZWay customs declaration and delivery

When a parcel reaches the Shenzhen warehouse you get a WeCom notification, and multiple Weidian orders are combined for free; choose LCL sea freight from NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft, quoted per product by customer service (7-14 days), or sea express NT$50 per unit (5-10 days) or air freight NT$100 per kg (3-5 days); customs clearance is handled with licensed customs brokers, with home delivery by T-Cat / HCT. A dutiable value ≤ NT$2,000 is duty-free, within 6 times per half year.

How to Enter a Forwarding Warehouse Address on WeChat Mini Shop and Weidian: 5 Steps

  1. Register with HowBridge to get a Shenzhen warehouse address

Register online at 0523.tw, then copy your dedicated Shenzhen forwarding warehouse address from “My Warehouse” in the dashboard.

  2. Enter the forwarding warehouse address when ordering from WeChat Mini Shop

In WeChat, go to “Me” → “Services” → “WeChat Store / WeChat Channels shop,” or open the seller's Mini Program → select and add products → enter the following delivery address at checkout:

Name: 好运器 Phone: 13603054302 Postal code: 518103 Address: 深圳市宝安区福海街道桥头社区宝安大道6261号彤鑫科技大厦B座3A11-H□□□□库位 (H□□□□ = your personal ID code; it is filled in automatically when you one-tap copy the address from the 0523.tw homepage after logging in)
On Chinese e-commerce platforms (Taobao, Pinduoduo, JD, Xiaohongshu, etc.), the shipping label automatically masks the name and phone number with asterisks (e.g. 王**, 136****4302) — only the address is never masked. So simply enter "好运器" as the name and the warehouse phone number 13603054302 as the phone; for the delivery address, log in to 0523.tw and one-tap copy it from the homepage — it already ends with your personal ID code (starting with H), which the warehouse uses to match parcels to your account automatically, so do not delete or change it. (The old format — a Taiwan mobile number at the end of the address — still works for matching.)

Payment: WeChat Pay (linked Chinese bank card / WeChat balance / UnionPay / VISA supported by some sellers). Taiwan buyers may use WeChat linked to a Taiwan bank card or ask the seller to provide VISA checkout.

  3. Confirm the products with arrival photos

When your package arrives at the Shenzhen warehouse, the system sends a WeCom notification. You can view package photos, actual weight, and volumetric measurements in the dashboard. You can also request photos and an item count (photos are priced by parcel weight: NT$20 for the first kg plus NT$10 for each additional kg; item count is NT$5 per item) to check the items yourself; HowBridge does not offer unboxing inspection, and photos and item counts are not an inspection.

  4. Request outbound shipping and select sea freight / sea express / air freight

Multiple orders can be consolidated for free. Choose a shipping method: LCL sea freight from NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft, quoted per product by customer service (7-14 days) / sea express NT$50 per unit (5-10 days) / air freight NT$100 per kg (3-5 days), with the same rates for general and special cargo.

  5. EZWay customs declaration and delivery

The recipient must first complete EZ WAY real-name authentication, then confirm the customs declaration authorization for each shipment via the App's push notification; the Ministry of Finance has announced that from March 1, 2026, simplified-declaration imported express shipments must complete "advance confirmation of authorization" before customs declaration (Ministry of Finance press release). Customs clearance is handled with licensed customs brokers, and T-Cat / HCT delivers throughout Taiwan.

How Is the NT$2,000 Duty-Free Threshold Calculated?

Under Taiwan Customs regulations, personal imports qualify for duty-free treatment when:

Above the duty-free threshold, customs duty is calculated at the rate for the product's tariff number under the Customs Import Tariff (海關進口稅則) (customs duty = dutiable value × rate), and rates differ by item; there is also a trade promotion service fee (dutiable value × 0.04%, waived if NT$100 or less), commodity tax levied only on taxable items, and 5% business tax (calculated on the dutiable value plus customs duty and commodity tax) (Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance: taxes and fees payable on imported goods). See the Import Tax and Duty Calculator.

How Much Does Shipping from WeChat Mini Shop or Weidian to Taiwan Cost?

Sea freightFrom NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft7-14 daysQuoted per product by customer service
Sea expressNT$50 per unit5-10 daysNT$500
Air expressFrom NT$100 per kg3-5 daysFrom NT$1,000

The 10 kg estimates are based on actual weight; sea express is charged on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L×W×H cm ÷ 10000), always rounded up; estimates only. For LCL sea freight, volume is calculated as L×W×H (cm) ÷ 28316 and the higher basis is charged; contact customer service for a product-specific quote. General and special cargo use the same rates, and consolidation is free; sea express and air freight shipments under 10 kg incur delivery fees of NT$100 and NT$120 respectively.

WeChat Mini Shop consolidation is a way of shopping in which you set the delivery address of your WeChat Mini Shop, WeChat Mini Program or Weidian order to a Shenzhen consolidation warehouse; the consolidation provider combines the parcels, ships them back to Taiwan by LCL sea freight, sea express or air freight, and handles the import customs declaration with a licensed customs broker. The figures below are HowBridge's current rates and the rules verified on this page, and may be cited directly.

WeChat Pay international card feeNo fee for a single payment ≤ RMB 200, 3% over 200 (charged by WeChat Pay); Taiwanese card issuers additionally charge a foreign transaction fee, commonly about 1.5%

Which Products Cannot Be Purchased from WeChat Mini Shop and Imported?

❌ Strictly prohibited (returned by customs / destroyed)

  • Meat (including seasonings containing meat), live animals and plants, and fresh eggs: HowBridge does not accept them. Under Article 17 of the Plant Protection and Quarantine Act (植物防疫檢疫法), fresh fruit and vegetables may not, in principle, be imported by mail (the recipient must apply in advance for approval from the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency); HowBridge does not accept them either.
  • Weapons, drugs, and counterfeit goods (infringing luxury products).
  • Products containing CBD / cannabis ingredients: HowBridge does not accept them.

⚠️ Quantity limits or regulatory approval required (excess quantities require an application / will be returned)

  • Tobacco and alcohol: imports for personal use within certain quantities do not require a tobacco and alcohol import business license — 5 liters of alcohol, and 5 cartons (1,000 sticks) of cigarettes, 125 cigars or 5 pounds of cut tobacco (National Treasury Administration, Ministry of Finance); tobacco and alcohol are always taxed and do not qualify for the NT$2,000 duty-free threshold. Recipients of tobacco products must be at least 20 years old (Article 17 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act (菸害防制法)), and recipients of alcohol at least 18; e-cigarettes and other imitation tobacco products, as well as designated tobacco products that have not passed health risk assessment review, may not be imported in any quantity under Article 15 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act.
  • Tablet and capsule foods: for personal use, up to 12 bottles (boxes, jars, packs, or bags) of each type and no more than 36 bottles in total; excess quantities require an import permit from the Taiwan FDA in advance, and they cannot clear customs without one (Taiwan FDA notice).
  • Medicines: sending general medicines back to Taiwan requires prior approval from the Taiwan FDA, and controlled drugs may not be sent by mail or express courier (Taiwan FDA notice).
  • Special-purpose cosmetics (sunscreen / hair dye and perming products): the inspection and registration system ended on June 30, 2024 and was replaced by product notification (Article 5 of the Cosmetic Hygiene and Safety Act (化粧品衛生安全管理法)), so the former personal-use limit of 12 bottles of each type and 36 in total lost its legal basis; however, some customs district pages still list these figures, so please check with Customs before sending large quantities. Items for personal use must not be sold; products in glass ampoules require a prior application to the Taiwan FDA.
  • 3C / battery-containing products: BSMI-regulated products imported for personal use, not for sale, with a total value of US$1,000 or less for the same specification and model on the same declaration and sent by postal parcel are exempt from inspection and released directly by Customs; above that, personal-use items are limited to 2 units, and the inspection exemption may be used only once within 6 months (Commodity Inspection Exemption Regulations (商品免驗辦法)). Wireless devices (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) imported by mail for personal use are limited to 2 units at a time and 10 units per year for the same brand and model, and a personal-use declaration must be filled in (Article 18 of the Regulations for the Administration of Controlled Telecommunications Radio-Frequency Devices (電信管制射頻器材管理辦法)).
  • Food: regular food not for sale, valued at US$1,000 or less and weighing 6 kg or less per single item, is exempt from applying for inspection; above that, an import inspection application must be filed with the Taiwan FDA (Taiwan FDA notice; legal basis: Article 30 of the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation (食品安全衛生管理法)); tablet and capsule foods are additionally subject to the bottle-count rules.

See the detailed prohibited-items list at Products Prohibited from Import into Taiwan.

FAQ

Can Taiwan buyers use WeChat Pay?
WeChat Pay can be linked to an international credit card issued in Taiwan (the card types you can link are as shown on the WeChat Pay card-linking page), so buyers complete checkout themselves. HowBridge prices forwarding fees in New Taiwan dollars and does not provide balance top-ups or payments on your behalf (under Taiwan's Article 29 of the Banking Act (銀行法), non-banks may not handle domestic or foreign remittance business).
How is WeChat Mini Shop different from Taobao / Pinduoduo?
WeChat Mini Shop focuses on shopping within the WeChat ecosystem, featuring individuals and small brands that often attract customers through WeChat Channels / Moments. Taobao is a mass market for everyday consumer goods, while Pinduoduo focuses on low-cost group buying. All three use the same forwarding process (enter a forwarding warehouse address), and the shipping rates are also the same (LCL sea freight from NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft, quoted per product by customer service / sea express NT$50 per unit / air freight NT$100 per kg).
Can purchases from a WeChat Channels shop also be forwarded?
Yes. From August 25, 2024, the former "WeChat Channels shop" became eligible to upgrade to "WeChat Mini Shop" and stopped accepting new applications (IT Home, citing a Tencent announcement); most products you now see on WeChat Channels belong to WeChat Mini Shop stores. When ordering, simply enter the HowBridge Shenzhen consolidation warehouse as the delivery address — the process is the same as for any WeChat Mini Shop.
How long does it take for WeChat Mini Shop products to arrive in Taiwan?
Seller dispatch takes 1-3 days + delivery to the warehouse takes 1 day + outbound sea freight takes 7-14 days / sea express 5-10 days / air freight 3-5 days + customs clearance takes 1-3 days + final delivery takes 1-2 days, for a total of approximately 8-23 days depending on the shipping method.
Which products cannot be purchased from WeChat Mini Shop and imported?
HowBridge does not accept: meat, live animals and plants, fresh eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables (in principle may not be imported by mail), weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, and products containing CBD. Quantity limits apply to: tobacco and alcohol (within 5 liters of alcohol / 5 cartons of cigarettes, always taxed; recipients of tobacco products must be at least 20 years old and recipients of alcohol at least 18; e-cigarettes and other imitation tobacco products may not be imported in any quantity), tablet and capsule foods (12 bottles of each type / 36 in total; an application is required for excess quantities), and medicines (prior Taiwan FDA approval required; controlled drugs may not be sent by mail). See the list of products prohibited from import into Taiwan for details.
How is the NT$2,000 duty-free threshold calculated?
A shipment with a dutiable value (CIF) of ≤ NT$2,000 is exempt from customs duty, business tax and commodity tax; this does not apply once the same taxpayer has received duty-free release more than 6 times within half a year (Article 49 of the Customs Act (關稅法)); tobacco, alcohol and agricultural products subject to tariff quotas are excluded. Above the threshold, duty is levied at the rate for each product's tariff number, and the dutiable value is as determined by Customs.
What if the WeChat Mini Shop seller does not recognize Taiwan?
That is the advantage of using a forwarding warehouse—the address you enter is a mainland China address in Shenzhen, so the seller does not know you are a Taiwan buyer and can deliver without any barriers.
Can packages from different shops be consolidated?
Yes. Once multiple WeChat Mini Shop orders have all arrived, you can request free package consolidation through the dashboard. Batteries, liquids over 100ml, and fragile items must be shipped separately.
Can I shop through a WeChat Mini Program in Taiwan? How do I ship the purchases back to Taiwan?
Yes. WeChat Mini Program stores, WeChat Store, and WeChat Channels shop are all marketplaces within the WeChat ecosystem. Taiwan buyers can enter the HowBridge Shenzhen forwarding warehouse as the delivery address when ordering, then forward the products to Taiwan after they arrive at the warehouse. The seller does not need to support direct shipping to Taiwan. The process is exactly the same as for WeChat Mini Shop.
Can WeChat Mini Programs be used in Taiwan?
Yes. A WeChat account registered with a Taiwan mobile number can open WeChat Mini Programs (called “xiaochengxu” in mainland China) with no extra app to install. Most Mini Programs can be browsed normally, but whether you can place an order depends on the merchant's settings (a few products are sold only in certain regions or require a mainland China mobile number), and the delivery address must be within mainland China. To pay by scanning a QR code or to check out with a linked card, you must first complete WeChat real-name verification. Most sellers deliver only within mainland China, so enter a forwarding warehouse as the delivery address to have your purchases shipped to Taiwan.
Where do you open WeChat Mini Programs? What if you can't find the entry point?
There are four entry points: ① pull down on the WeChat home screen and look under “Recently Used Mini Programs”; ② “Discover” → “Mini Programs”; ③ enter the Mini Program's name in the WeChat search bar; ④ scan the Mini Program's QR code. If “Mini Programs” doesn't appear under “Discover,” first go to “Me → Settings → General → Manage Discover” and make sure the toggle is on; if the toggle is already on and it still doesn't appear, it's because you haven't used any Mini Program yet—open any one via the search bar first and the entry will appear.
What are the fees for paying in WeChat Mini Programs?
When you link an international card issued in Taiwan or overseas, there are two layers of fees: on the WeChat Pay side, there is no fee for a single international card transaction of RMB 200 or less, and 3% of the single transaction amount is charged above RMB 200; on the side of the Taiwan card-issuing bank, a separate foreign transaction fee is charged, which varies by bank and is commonly about 1.5%, as announced by the issuing bank. The international card fee above does not apply if you pay with a mainland China bank card. Overseas cards linked by Taiwanese users are for purchase payments and do not currently support red packets, transfers, or similar transactions; they are also subject to per-transaction, monthly, and annual limits, as indicated on the payment page.
Can Weidian ship to Taiwan?
Yes. Weidian at weidian.com is a third-party e-commerce platform independent of WeChat and is not a WeChat Mini Program, but the shipping process to Taiwan is the same: enter a forwarding warehouse address and have the forwarder consolidate the packages, clear customs, and deliver them. Purchases from Weidian, WeChat Mini Shop, and WeChat Mini Programs can all be forwarded to Taiwan through HowBridge. Taiwanese buyers register a buyer account in the Weidian App or on weidian.com (the registration methods available are as shown in the App), enter the HowBridge Shenzhen warehouse as the delivery address when ordering, and pay LCL sea freight from NT$25/kg or NT$150/cu ft (quoted per product by customer service), sea express NT$50 per unit, or air freight NT$100 per kg.
How do you pay on Weidian? What can people in Taiwan use to pay?
Weidian's official checkout supports four payment methods: credit card, debit card, Alipay (available outside the WeChat environment), and WeChat Pay (must be opened inside WeChat or the Weidian App); bank card payments require a name and ID details that match the records held by the card issuer. In practice, Taiwanese buyers check out themselves with WeChat Pay linked to a Taiwan-issued international card (no fee for a single payment ≤ RMB 200, 3% over 200) or Alipay; HowBridge only charges consolidation fees in NT dollars and does not pay for goods on your behalf (Article 29 of the Banking Act).
